Male California Quail

Artist: Lori Aylesworth
Final Price: $325

Many of us here in the valley have spent time listening to the quail and watching them herd their little troops of fledglings around, usually with the parents scouting on either end of the troop for danger, posing as lookouts and sounding an alarm if danger is near. I know that these little quail are very dear to many of us humans, so that's why I chose it for the subject for my empty bowl auction piece.

The Dunford Barn

Artist:  Lori Aylesworth
Dimensions:  10 1/8" x 3 1/4"
FINAL BID:  $250

The Dunford Barn is a well known landmark in Central Washington, located off Highway 97, just a mile or so past the turnoff heading towards Ellensburg.  The barn is one of the few old barns left still standing around the countryside.  If the roofs are not maintained, the elements take over and eventually these beautiful buildings succumb and fall down.

"Moon Rising, Mountain Home Ridge"

Artist:  Lori Aylesworth

Final Bid:  $500

Dimensions:  10" x 2 1/2"

On my bowl I painted a local Leavenworth valley landscape. You don't need to go far around here to find inspiration. I've watched the moon come up over Mountain Home Ridge countless times, and it always takes my breath away.
