Formed as a food bank by area churches in 1983, the Community Cupboard has grown both in size and services in the past 25 years. Located in a space donated by the City of Leavenworth, the Cupboard now includes a food bank, thrift store, and Emergency Family Assistance services.
The thrift store has new and used items including: mens, womens & childrens clothing; dishes; glassware; small appliances; books; cd's; linens; toys; games and much more. Every week one or more of our departments is 50% off!
The food bank provides residents of the Upper Valley with much needed food provisions each month, and is one of the few food banks in the state open 5 days/week. Finally, Emergency Family Assistance services through the Cupboard help local residents in need throughout the year with emergency shelter, rent & utility assistance, fuel and transportation assistance, and referrals.
We are only able to offer these services through the generous donations of food, thrift store goods, volunteer hours and finances from the community. The ministries of the Community Cupboard are truly an outpouring of community spirit!
