Runell worked as a farmhand and food system organizer for the Oklahoma City metro from 2019-2022. During this time, she served the community with Uproot & Rising-Indian Territory, a grassroots organization with a passion for Food Security, Mutual Aid, and a focus on Indigenous Land Back movements. She moved to Washington in 2022 to pursue firefighting but couldn’t resist getting back to the soil. Upper Valley MEND sees a future she can believe in and she’s excited to learn from her peers.

When she is not seen barefoot in a garden you could find her on a split board in the backcountry, fiddling with her acoustic guitar or making kombucha.
