Join us as local experts and community members—including MEND’s Human Services Director Bob Mark—address growing food insecurity in the region amid government cuts to programs that combat hunger and a continuing increase in grocery prices for residents.
We will take a deeper look at how food is distributed and by whom in the two counties, the increase in emergency food requests, community assets to build upon, and additional ways the region can build greater capacity and resilience. The event has been designed as a learning experience that leads to targeted actions.
The cost to attend the symposium is $10, which includes a healthy lunch prepared with locally grown foods. Spanish interpretation is available upon request during registration. Space is limited.
